Which organizations can submit a project?

A project can be implemented by multiple enterprises, with the project submitter coordinating the project. Other involved parties are project partners or subcontractors. Each project partner must provide a clear and significant added value to the project.

The project submitter must be a Flemish enterprise, meaning it must have at least one establishment in Flanders. Additionally, its activities and presence in the Flemish Region must be demonstrated.

The concept of 'enterprise' is broadly interpreted within the scope of this project call, covering a wide range of possible organizational forms including companies, consulting firms, NGOs, non-profits, research institutions, universities, and colleges.

For project partners, it is not required to have an establishment in Flanders or to demonstrate activities and presence in the Flemish Region.

For the project call of 2024, it is no longer possible to create a new project.

For demonstration projects, your project proposal had to be registered no later than 26 April 2024 at 2:00 PM CEST via the project portal of the Flanders International Climate Action Programme. If you haven’t registered your project proposal on time, it won’t be possible to submit a project this year. Your complete project proposal must be submitted no later than 21 June 2024 at 10:00 AM CEST.

For dissemination and/or capacity building projects, the project call was closed on 26 April 2024.

Demonstration projects

For demonstration projects, there are additional requirements that the submitter and partners must meet. The project submitter must be part of a consortium comprising the project submitter and project partners, consisting of:

  • either at least two enterprises, with one being an SME, where none of the enterprises covers more than 70% of the eligible costs;
  • or the enterprise and one or more knowledge institutions, where the knowledge institutions bear at least 10% of the eligible costs and have the right to publish their own research results.

Dissemination and/or capacity building projects

For dissemination and/or capacity building projects, there are no additional requirements that the submitter and partners must meet.

Please note: Each enterprise, acting as an applicant, can have a maximum of 4 project proposals accepted for further assessment of eligibility. If more than 4 project proposals are submitted involving the same enterprise as the applicant, only the first 4 submitted project proposals, according to the timing of submission on the submission portal, will be accepted.
